Over 1,600 Models for Every Major 3D App: StemCell at 3 Months

DeLonna Scott 3D Modeling, Customers, Industry News

Back in January, we launched our StemCell Program to the TurboSquid Artist community. Since then, more and more artists have been working directly with the TurboSquid staff, building models to our spec, and getting through the rigorous training materials. Thanks to everyone’s hard work, our StemCell catalog is now at over 1,600 3D models and counting, in less than 3 months!

Because we’ve worked so closely with our Advisory Board, the resulting models are the most flexible content we can offer: they’re meant to “just work” natively in a large variety of apps and renderers (we mean it– all StemCell assets are texture based, which means a cleaner import for you). Historically, a plain OBJ or FBX could get the job done, but with so many different creators using so many different 3D applications, we think it’s a lot easier for artists to model where they’re comfortable, and for us to make those models accessible in Max, Maya, Unity, and more. And as more major companies are expanding their presence in the 3D world, we’re finding they need a reliable library of content for their users to start with. We think StemCell can be that library.

Want to put our models to the test? Check out some of our recent favorites, which each contain several formats that have been produced by the StemCell conversion process:
