Dystopia/Utopia” was our second 3D art challenge, and we received so many thought-provoking images that our panel of judges certainly had their work cut out for them. We’d like to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated, and we’re delighted to share the winners of this year’s TurboSquid art competition!

1st place – Glen Johnson

1st place winnerGlen’s prize-winning masterpiece is breathtaking and seems to be a perfect blend of dystopian and utopian elements. You can view more of Glen’s work at his Artstation, Sketchfab, and YouTube accounts.

2nd place – Chris Matthews

2nd Place WinnerChris’s creation appears, at first glance, to be a cozy, inviting utopia for one. Looking closer, the setting under a giant robotic hand infers a bleak history of what came before this scene. While dystopian themes are hardly ever described as cozy, we think Chris did a fantastic job of hitting that mark. You can view his work on Behance.

    1. Hey, I’ve just read this fascinating book on a utopian world that turns about to a real dystopia that is apparently taking this world by storm: https://tinyurl.com/TIOTSOL
I dare you to be the same person after reading this brilliant book! It certainly made me see things differently. And it has a love story that broke my heart. And is also hilarious.
