Metal Hammer Awards Promo Video Shows How Metal and Models Collide

TurboSquid Sightings, Site

According to our recent Facebook poll, metal appears to be the music of choice when modelling, so it comes as no surprise to us that the promoters for this year’s Metal Hammer Golden God Awards in the UK used the art of 3D animation (and a few familiar models) to highlight their upcoming event.

According to the Trevor Witt, Head of Multimedia for Future PLC, publisher of Metal Hammer Magazine, the video took eight weeks to produce using 3ds Max 2012 and Adobe After Effects CS5.5. Music by metal legends ‘Anthrax’ roars in the background while effects from the wildly popular ‘World of Tanks’ online game adds an authentic sound to the Tiger 1 Tank model that rumbles through the video. The tank is only one of six models from the TurboSquid catalog used in the reel. Models featured include:

Tiger 1 Tank 3D Model by 3rdaxis

Desert Road by 3D_Multimedia

Hangar by Dzejsi Models

Destroyed Houses Collection V1 by 3d_molier

Wreak Car Collection 2010 by FalconPro

Opel Blitz German Truck WWII by De Espona
