TurboSquid @Siggraph 2009

TurboSquid Site

After nine years, SIGGRAPH has returned to New Orleans! In that time, TurboSquid has continued to grow as the world’s leading resource for stock 3D models <link>, 3D plugins <link>, and textures <link>. We are extremely excited to be hosting SIGGRAPH 2009 <link> in order to show the 3D industry how much the city has grown since Hurricane Katrina.
To give back, we are also hosting a Habitat for Humanity event called “Squid Build” in New Orleans’Ninth Ward on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1. As some of you may know, the Ninth Ward was one of the most devastated areas in New Orleans after Katrina and has been the slowest to recover. We are using SIGGRAPH 2009 as a chance to meet other individuals in the 3D industry and celebrate the rebirth of our beloved city.
Not going to be in town until the event days? No prob.  Just stop by booth #3600 <link> for a TurboSquid meet and greet. We’ll be demoing a variety of our Autodesk Certified Animation Plug-ins (ACAPs) <link> by 3D plugin creators such as Node Joe’s Mike McCarthy and Ansi Scherr of Particle Flow Tools fame. Don’t worry, there will also be plenty of Squids swimming around to answer any questions you may have and pass out TurboSquid shirts.
Stay connected with us during the show by following our updates on Twitter, Facebook, and here on the TurboSquid Blog.
SIGGRAPH 2009 is going to be one to remember and as we say in the Big Easy laissez le bon temps rouler “let the good times roll”.
Can’t wait to see you there!

After nine years, SIGGRAPH has returned to New Orleans! We’re excited that the show is back, and feeling a little sentimental.  It was at the 2000 New Orleans show that we officially announced TurboSquid to the world.  In the past 9 years, we have continued to grow as the world’s leading resource for stock 3D models, 3D plugins, and textures. We are extremely excited New Orleans is hosting SIGGRAPH 2009, and can’t wait to show the 3D industry how much the city has grown since Hurricane Katrina.

We felt like that the show would be a great opportunity for us to give something back to the city, so we are also hosting a Habitat for Humanity event that we’re referring to as “The Squid Build.”  The build will take place in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1. As some of you may know, the Ninth Ward was one of the most devastated areas in New Orleans after Katrina and has been the slowest to recover. We are using SIGGRAPH 2009 as a chance to work with other individuals in the 3D industry and help with the rebirth of our beloved city.

If you can’t make it in early, but are coming to the show, be sure to drop by our booth #3600 and say hi. We’ll be demoing a variety of popular Autodesk Certified Animation Plug-ins (ACAPs) including FumeFX, AfterBurn, NodeJoe, Particle Flow Tools and rtre. We’re pleased that several TurboSquid friends are going to be helping with these demos including Mike McCarthy, who’ll be showing off NodeJoe, as well as particle guru Ansi Scherr who will blow you away with his Particle Flow Tools: Box 2 Pro and Box 3 Pro demos. Don’t miss it. In addition, we’ll be showcasing our new Search interface for 3D content that should help our customers find exactly what they need in less time and make our vendors even more successful. The TurboSquid team will be in full force walking the show floor, so feel free to stop anyone in a TurboSquid shirt and say hello.

Stay connected with us during the show by following our updates on Twitter, Facebook, and here on the TurboSquid Blog.  We’re planning on posting updates and pics from the show floor – if there’s anything you’d like us report on, let us know.

SIGGRAPH 2009 is going to be one to remember and as tourists often shout on Bourbon St – laissez le bon temps rouler – “let the good times roll”!

See you there!
